MAD SUMMIT 2018 In Space we Connect - The constellation of Art and Media in the Millenial Universe
Fourth year AB Multimedia (MMA) students of DLSL organized this gathering that tackles various types of artists in the digital era.
The ticket and pass given to us, the passengers.
Where vloggers, spoken word artists, graphic artists, and cinematographers came to connect as they were the chosen speakers of a fine group of attendees.
The speakers (sitting, starting from left) : Jayzar Recinto of Hello Lipa, Pau Sepagan aka. RogerRaker, Emman Nimedez "Pambansang Oppa", Maqui Castelo.
The crowd, on the other hand, was composed of professionals working in the field of information and communication, MMA students of other universities, high school students, vlogger enthusiasts, and aspiring bloggers (like me).
There were five things that I have learned from that day. Here they are:
  1. When you have a dream, the best way to fulfill it is by starting with what you have at the moment.
  2. Tell a story, may it be a blog, a poem, a film or even a still picture.
  3. Practice. Learn. Challenge. Explore.
  4. Find your area and exert efforts there.
  5. Enjoy and be happy.
The two Master of Ceremonies for the event. Next picture shows how the speakers are introduced as they open the curtains.
Arabella Racelis of That's Bella and her fellow supporters waving at the right.
Antonio Bathan performing two of his spoken word poetry works.
Katsy Garcia the digital artist.
Maqui Castelo sharing about Photography
Pau Sepagan the chill dude.
They used a huge LED screen instead of the usual two projectors. By the time the program was done, my eyes were slightly red. Which is a reminder that it is important to occassionaly rest your eyes.
I can say that the ticket pass, the speakers, the venue, give-aways, and the raffle prizes (where I won!) it was all a great deal. I think it was a success and I wouldn't be surprised if they were to do this again next year.
If you have been to one of these, it's not really a thing to attend again, because in general they share the same content. However, that doesn't mean you should stop learning. Find ways to extend your horizons. Since this was my first time, I really appreciated their works and I hope for the best.
And that's all for now, thanks for reading. And I hope we all Learn. Practice. Challenge. Explore. and Be Grateful.
