The IECEP have come up  once again with a remarkabe event that will speak up for the anti-bullying campaign and drug-awareness. These two topics are rarely talked about in public. More likely the thought of bringing it up makes people raise eyebrows.
Shortly, just a few months ago, it was April, IECEP managed to hold a huge event, the Retro concert featuring IV of Spades. This time they've come up with a an event catering the needs of mental health.
Peer Facilitators' Circle was invited to have a short activity in line with the event. And yours truly, was assigned to manage such. To be honest, I am not an avid supporter of anti-bully campaigns. However, I cannot hide that fact that I am a mental advocate. And to meet halfway I chose to create an activity that leans more unto positive psychology.
We shared the traditional, check-in with an additional twist. They answered questions like if you woke up as an animal, what would it be to what are your strangest family traditions. And these are a few things I enjoyed seeing that day.
  1. One simple question can start a meaningful conversation with a stranger.
  2. Sometimes, people just need to look up to see what they are looking for.
  3. A common thing (like their dislike of the subject chemistry) can bond eighty people as one.
  4. Doing something that scares you, might actually benefit you.
  5. All people have a story, and it's all so interesting.
It was a short yet meaningful event, and sadly I was honestly not that happy with my performance. I suggest this be done again soon. It was a fun experience for these froshies.
